Radiant Memories
Kollengode, a hidden gem in Palakkad, unveiled its beauty to me in a symphony of sunshine and rain. As I arrived, the radiant sunshine enveloped the landscape, casting a warm, golden glow over the coconut palms and lush paddy fields. My journey began with a visit to Kudilidam, a timeless place where huts dotted a vast field, offering a glimpse into rural Kerala's serenity and creating a tranquil atmosphere that truly touched my soul.
However, the weather soon took an unexpected turn, as a gentle rain began to fall. I continued my exploration and stumbled upon the hidden Seetharkund Waterfalls, nestled in lush forests. The rain added a refreshing twist to my journey, and I couldn't resist the temptation to immerse myself in the cool waters while raindrops continued to bless the experience. As the rain eventually subsided, I ventured to Peringottussery Kalam, where the road led me to a small, white-washed building surrounded by fields, where the road ends. Here, I enjoyed a delicious meal while basking in the post-rain ambience. Continuing my journey, I explored Chinganchira Prakrithi Kshethram, a serene place shaded by sprawling banyan trees. The sun's rays filtered through the leaves, creating a captivating play of light and shadow. This temple swayed in nature's lap, left a lasting impression on me. My day in Kollengode concluded with a visit to Vamalamuruga temple atop a hill. By then, the rain had given way to a gentle evening light that painted the surroundings in orange and pink hues. The hike to the temple provided a unique experience, and the panoramic view from the top was simply breathtaking. The temple's serenity against the backdrop of the setting sun, with a lone chembaka tree at its centre, filled me with a deep sense of tranquillity and. spirituality.
I departed with cherished memories of both sunny and rainy days in this enchanting corner of Kerala.
