The #ArtForAwareness #ChetanaCollegeCampaign initiated by the members of Design Hub of Chetana College of Media and Performing Arts, under the guidance of Razi Muhammed (HOD Graphic Design and Animation Dept), is expected to end on May 31st with a public exhibition of the Campaign art works. The ‘Art For Awareness Exhibition’ organized by Chetana Students’ Design Hub, in association with Chetana College IQAC, will showcase around 70 posters and campaign videos, poems, blogs and articles created by students and staff of Chetana College as part of the one month long campaign.
The Design Hub came up with this innovative idea of a Visual Media Campaign, in order to extend their support to the #VaccineChallenge campaign, part of the CMDRF, Kerala Government. The campaign had two-fold focus: first of all, to create awareness among the public about the importance of getting vaccinated, all age groups, especially youngsters who may show slight hesitation to it. Secondly the campaign stands to assert the basic right, ‘Free Vaccines for All’, for all Indian citizens.
The ‘Art For Awareness’ campaign through different artistic expressions, stands to salute the decision of Kerala Government and our Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to take up responsibility of making vaccines free for all Keralaites, especially for the poor sections of the society. The Social Media hash tag for the Campaign was #VaccineChallenge #CMDRF #ArtForAwareness #ChetanaCollegeCampaign #VaccineForAll

The half day online FDP Workshop organized by IQAC Chetana College on the topic ‘Outcome Based Education’ was coordinated by IQAC-Criterion II, headed by Ms. Ranya Prasad. The resource person was Dr. CS Biju, Associate Professor English and Coordinator-Media Studies at St. Thomas College, Thrissur. This workshop had been planned offline at College campus, but due to Covid protocol restrictions, we moved the event online.
The Outcome Based Education has become priority in the scheme of syllabus modifications in Calicut University, in response to the directives from the UGC. It has been a difficult question for us faculty at the Media and Performing Arts college to conceive and implement the `quantifiable Programme Outcome (PO), specific Programme Outcome (SPO) and Course Outcome (CO), when it comes to practical, production –oriented subjects like Screen Writing, Filmmaking, Visual Communication, Journalism etc. Dr. Biju gave a clear cut presentation on how even language teachers, especially those who teach language for the media or multimedia students, can come up with definite Outcomes and implement those goals in any discipline connected to art, music, theatre, cinema, design, multimedia, journalism etc.
