The NSS unit of Chetana College launched the Vegetable Garden Project on March 14, 2025. The initiative aims to promote sustainable farming practices and environmental awareness among students. NSS volunteers, along with faculty members, actively participated in preparing the land and planting various vegetables at the college premises. This hands-on project fosters teamwork, responsibility, and a commitment to green living.

The event featured two insightful sessions aimed at guiding students on career growth and higher education opportunities.The first session, conducted by JB Education at 10:40 AM, focused on study abroad possibilities for media students, providing valuable insights into international education pathways. Later, at 1:30 PM, Heralds International led a session on soft skills development and career options, emphasizing essential professional skills and global career prospects.

The NSS unit and union members of Chetana College actively participated in the International Women's Day celebration held at the Thrissur Press Club on 8th March 2025. The event featured a panel discussion on "Gender Sensitivity in Media", with an inaugural address by renowned journalist Sara Joseph. Eminent speakers, including N. Sushmitha, Anupama Venkitadri, Sheetal Shyam, and Mini Madhavan, shared their insights on gender representation and inclusivity in media. The participation of Chetana College students reinforced their commitment to social awareness and gender equality.

The NSS unit of Chetana College organized an awareness campaign, Say No to Drugs, on 7th March 2025, in connection with International Women's Day. The initiative aimed to educate students on the dangers of drug abuse and promote a healthier, drug-free society.

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in association with IQAC, is organizing a special session for final semester students on March 10 at the Studio Hall. The event includes a session on study abroad opportunities for media students by JB Education at 10:40 AM and a session on soft skills development and career options by Heralds International at 1:30 PM.

The International Theatre Festival of Kerala (ITFOK) 2025, held from February 23 to March 2, was organized by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi in collaboration with the Kerala Government. Chetana College of Media was invited as the official media team, providing festival coverage through print and social media. The team, coordinated by faculty member Amrutha V. P, comprised 18 students who worked from 9 AM to 11 PM daily, gaining hands-on experience in media production, journalism, and content creation.The Media Desk managed press relations, the Second Bell team produced daily festival bulletins, and the Social Media Team provided real-time updates and engaging content. Students participated in news reporting, interviews, video production, and social media management. Their efforts resulted in over 50 video contents, 60 marketing posters, and daily publications. Each participant received an honorarium of ₹2000 and a certificate.ITFOK 2025 was an invaluable learning experience for the students, offering practical exposure to media and journalism in a professional setting.

Chetana College NSS Unit SF 051, in association with IQAC, organized an Agricultural Training session at the Agricultural University on 22nd February at 10:00 AM. The session provided students with valuable insights into modern agricultural techniques, sustainable farming practices, and innovative cultivation methods. Experts from the university guided participants through various aspects of farming, including soil management, crop cultivation, and advancements in agricultural technology. The hands-on learning experience helped students understand the importance of sustainable agriculture and food security.

The Photography Workshop at Chetana College of Media & Performing Arts was held on 21st February 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at the Studio Floor. Led by Chriss Jacob, Assistant Professor, Department of Visual Communication, the session covered essential photography techniques and creative composition. Organized by the Department of Multimedia in collaboration with the Departments of Film & Television and Visual Communication, the workshop, coordinated by Brinjula P, provided participants with valuable hands-on experience and practical insights into photography.

The Clay Modelling Workshop organized by Chetana College of Media & Performing Arts was held on 21st February 2025, at St. Teresita’s UP School, Thalore, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Conducted by experts, the session provided students with hands-on experience in clay modeling, enhancing their creativity and artistic skills. The session was led by Anoop Kumar, Director of Design at Sprinklr India Pvt Ltd, who shared valuable insights into the evolving design industry, emerging trends, and career opportunities in the corporate design sector. The event began with an inaugural session featuring Fr. Thomas Chakalamattath, Principal Arun John Mani, and Coordinator Athira K M, whose inspiring words set the stage for an engaging and insightful discussion. The Department of Multimedia at Chetana College, in association with the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM), is organizing a placement counseling session, Connect Career to Campus (CCC), on Wednesday, 5th February 2025, at 10 AM in the Studio Floor Auditorium. The session will be led by Sumesh K. B., Talent Curation Executive, KKEM, and will include career assessment, personality development training, work readiness programs, mock interviews, resume making, public speaking, and an English Score Test by the British Council.

The students of Chetana College have once again showcased their exceptional talent and dedication by excelling in the D Zone 2025 competitions. K Priyanka Justin, a third-year BMCJ student, made the college proud by securing first place in the Short Story Writing (Tamil) Competition and second place in the Essay Writing (Tamil) Competition, highlighting her remarkable literary skills. Akshay Nettissery, a third-year BFT student, displayed his musical excellence by securing third place in the Light Music (Male) category. The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in collaboration with IQAC, Chetana College, and the Ministry of Textiles, successfully conducted a 3-day Craft Demonstration cum Awareness Programme from 20th to 22nd January 2025. The event featured live demonstrations of pottery, mural painting, leather puppetry, and wood carving. Day 1 began with a grand inaugural session, while Day 2 included exclusive sessions for Chetana students. On Day 3, students from St. Joseph’s ICSE and Paramekkavu College actively participated, adding vibrancy to the program. The event was a resounding success, celebrating and preserving traditional crafts and culture.

The Arts Day Festival 2025 at Chetana College begins on Day 1 (January 9) with an array of engaging competitions held across various venues. At Venue 1 (Sarangi), the schedule features Short Story Writing (Malayalam) from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Speech (English, Malayalam) from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, and Short Story Writing (English) from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Over at Venue 3 (LH13), the events include Short Story Writing (Hindi) from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Poem Writing (English) from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, and Poem Writing (Hindi) from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Chillmas 2K24, organized by Rithva(Chetana Union), was held on 20th December 2024. The event spread festive cheer among students, faculty, and staff, fostering a sense of community and holiday spirit.Christmas messages were delivered by Fr. Francis Kurissery (Manager), Fr. Jijo Theethai (Director), and Mr. Arun John Mani (Principal).Featuring a modern depiction of Santa Claus, the celebration included engaging activities, captivating performances, and creative displays, showcasing the talents and creativity of students. The day concluded with an energetic DJ performance by Nithin.

The Personality Development Workshop was held on 19th December 2024 at 9:30 AM, organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication in collaboration with the Departments of Film & TV, Visual Communication, Multimedia, and Graphic Design and Animation. The workshop featured engaging sessions conducted by Ms. Reena Paulson and Ms. Athira Jose, Assistant Professors from the Department of Multimedia. The Communication Skill Development Programme was held from 16th December 2024 onwards at 9:30 AM in the Multimedia Studio, organized collaboratively by the Departments of Film and Television, Journalism and Mass Communication, and Visual Communication, in association with IQAC. Designed for first-year students, the three-day programme focused on enhancing communication skills through interactive and practical sessions, receiving enthusiastic participation and positive feedback.

Chillmas 2K24 is being organized by RITHVA Chetana Union on December 20, 2024. The event includes exciting activities such as a Star Making Competition with a cash prize of ₹1000. Participants are required to bring their own materials and create their stars on the day of the event from 8:30 AM to 12 PM. Judging criteria include creativity, originality, and presentation. On 17th December 2024, the first-year students of Chetana College visited the Photography Exhibition held at the Regional Theater in Thrissur. The event provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore diverse photography styles and techniques showcased by both professionals and enthusiasts.Faculty members Athira Jose, Akshay Sankar, Dr. Kripa K P, and Geo Jacob led the group, guiding students through the exhibition and helping them appreciate the artistic and technical aspects of photography, further fueling their passion for the art form.

The Zumba Session Soft Skill Development Programme will be held on 18th December 2024 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The students of MA 1st & 2nd years and BA 2nd year from the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Chetana College of Media and Performing Arts, Chiyaram, Thrissur, embarked on an industrial visit on December 13th, 2024, to the prestigious media houses Malayala Manorama and Mazhavil Manorama.The visit provided students with invaluable firsthand experience of the media and broadcasting industry. They gained insights into the production, editorial processes, and operations of one of Kerala's leading news organizations and television networks.

The first phase of the Final Year Project Presentation for BA Graphic Design and Animation students was held on 11th December 2024 at the Multimedia Studio. Faculty members of Chetana College, including Athira K M, Sreekanth K, and Nicole Maria Gomes, were present at the program.

The BGA Department organized a two-day Industrial Visit on 25th and 26th November 2024 for its students. On Day 1, students visited the Kerala Institute of Design, Kollam, to explore advanced design methodologies. On Day 2, they toured Toonz Media Group - Global Animation Production Company, gaining valuable insights into professional animation production and global media operations. The visit provided students with practical exposure to the creative industry.

The Naming Ceremony and Logo Launch of Chetana Union, now officially named "RITHVA", was held on 22nd November 2024 at Kalithattu. The event, inaugurated by Fr. Jijo Theethai at 12:30 PM, showcased the unveiling of the new name and logo, symbolizing vibrancy and unity. The ceremony was a proud and memorable moment, celebrating the spirit and identity of the union.

Presented by the Visual Communication Department, the festival took place across two venues: Screen 1 at Joseph Pulitzer Point and Screen 2 at Luminar Screen. The event showcased a diverse array of documentaries and short films, celebrating the art of storytelling through visual media. Esteemed jury members, including Fr. The BMCJ Department organized a Workshop on Newspaper Journalism Layout Design on 16th August 2024 at Multimedia Lab 2. The workshop, led by Mr. Amarjith K P, Assistant Professor at Chetana College, was attended by 1st-year BMCJ, 2nd-year BMCJ, and 1st MA MCJ students.Mr. Amarjith guided the students through the principles of effective newspaper layout design, covering key topics such as typography, grid systems, and the visual hierarchy in news presentation.

The BVC Department organized a Workshop on Script Writing for Short Films on 16th August 2024 at Lecture Hall 13. The workshop, designed for 1st-year BVC students, was conducted by Mr. Akshay Sankar R K, Assistant Professor at Chetana College.Mr.Akshay  Sankar provided students with valuable insights into the art of scriptwriting, focusing on the unique challenges and creative opportunities presented by short films.

The workshop, held at the multimedia studio, was led by Shan P Rahman and was tailored for 3rd-year BFT and BVC students.Throughout the day, students were introduced to the intricacies of lighting techniques used in cinematography.

The BMCJ Department  organized a two-day Research Methodology Workshop on 14th & 16th August 2024, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Lecture Hall -15. The workshop was conducted by Miss Amrutha K P, Assistant Professor at Chetana College, and was specifically designed for 2nd MA students.During the workshop, Miss Amrutha K P provided an in-depth exploration of various research methodologies, covering both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Chetana College celebrated the 78th Independence Day on 15th August with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event commenced at 9:00 AM with the flag hoisting ceremony, led by the Principal, followed by the singing of the national anthem. The atmosphere was filled with pride as students and faculty gathered to honor the nation's freedom. After the formal celebrations, various departments organized additional cultural activities and programs to continue the festivities.

The BMCJ Department organized a comprehensive "Video Editing" workshop on 14th August 2024, at Multimedia-LAB 2. The workshop, led by Mr. Amarjith K B, Assistant Professor at Chetana College, was designed for 1st MA, 1st BMCJ, and 2nd BMCJ students.Throughout the day, students were introduced to various video editing techniques, tools, and software. Mr. Amarjith provided hands-on training, guiding students through the process of editing raw footage into polished, professional videos.

The BGA Department at Chetana College, in collaboration with IQAC, successfully conducted a "Branding" workshop on 14th August from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The workshop was led by Mr. Favor Francis, Founder and Creative Director at OBW India, and was specifically designed for 3rd-year BGA students.Throughout the day, Mr. Francis shared insights into the world of branding, covering essential topics such as brand identity, strategy, and communication.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Razi Muhammed, a renowned Scenic Designer and VFX Director, and was tailored for 2nd-year BGA students.During the workshop, Mr. Muhammed guided students through the principles of perspective drawing, focusing on creating depth and realism in their artwork.

The Department of Graphic Design and Animation recently organized an outdoor sketching exercise, providing students with a unique opportunity to engage with their surroundings creatively. Held on 14th August 2024, the exercise encouraged students to draw inspiration from the natural environment, enhancing their observational and artistic skills.

The BFT Department organized a two-day workshop on "Scripting" on the 24th and 25th of July. The workshop led by Shaji T U, a renowned scriptwriter, and focused on providing an orientation to the final year production. During the workshop, Shaji T U covered essential aspects of scriptwriting, including structure, character development, and advanced techniques. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, analyzing sample scripts, and creating their own short scripts. The sessions were highly interactive, with students receiving personalized feedback on their work.

A Master Class was conducted on the 23rd of July 2024 for the students of Chetana College, featuring the renowned visualizer, Mr. Madhu Neelakandan. The event was organized by the departments of BFT, BVC, and BMCJ in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The session was held in the College Auditorium and spanned from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.The Master Class was a resounding success.Students gained valuable insights into the role of a visualizer and the creative process behind successful visual projects.

The BGA Department of Chetana College conducted a two-day workshop on "Lightbox Animation" on the 24th and 25th of July, 2024. The workshop was led by  Midhun K Benny, a renowned 2D Animation Artist. The "Lightbox Animation Workshop" provided a valuable learning experience for the students.BGA students gained practical skills in lightbox animation and were inspired to pursue further studies and projects in the field of animation.

The BFT Department of Chetana College organized an intensive workshop on "Camera and Lighting" on the 22nd of July, 2024. The workshop  led by Shaji Babu from the Panasonic Team and aimed to enhance the technical skills of the students in the areas of camera operation and lighting techniques. The "Camera and Lighting" workshop was a significant learning experience for the students. Students gained practical skills and a deeper understanding of camera and lighting techniques, which will be beneficial for their academic and professional projects.

The Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department, in collaboration with Chetana College, is celebrating World Environment Day with the event "Asoka Vanam" at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Vellanikara.

The college reopened on 3rd July with a formal function in the auditorium. The event featured a presidential address by Rev. Fr. Francis Kurissery CMI, the Executive Manager, followed by a director's note from Rev. Fr. Jijo Theethai CMI. Selected students from Chetana College demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication at the International Theatre Festival of Kerala (ITFoK), held from February 9 to 16 at Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. They worked across three pivotal departments of Media Coordination: Second Bell Daily News Bulletin, News Desk, and Social Media Promotion.

In connection with the Golazo Football League 2024, the college football team and college union conducted an auction at Studio Hall on 22nd January at 3.30pm.

IFTS(The International Festival of Theatre Schools ) is organised by the School of Drama and Fine Arts in Thrissur. The second edition of IFTS was held from January 14th to January 19. Students from Chetana College served as members of the media team.

The Nature and Photography Club organized a clean-up event in front of the campus. This initiative aimed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the campus surroundings and promote environmental responsibility among students.

On the same day, the Blessing of Christ the Guru painting, the inauguration of the St. Chavara Kuriakose Elias altar and the new computer lab as well as the celebration of Christmas took place. Following the inauguration, a variety of artistic performances took center stage. Additionally, card-making, letter-writing, and treasure hunt competitions took place.

An acting workshop for BVC and BFT students was held on December 18 and 19. Conducted by Addis Akkara, the workshop provided students with an opportunity to explore and enhance their acting skills.

Chetana College's Visual Communication Department orchestrated a dynamic event on December 7th, 2023 – the Campus Film Festival (CFFC) as part of VIVIDH 2023, College fest of Chetana College. This vibrant fest featured two standout programs that left an indelible mark on the campus. The highlight of the festival was the Campus Short Film Festival, commencing at 10 am and showcasing 12 entries, including one international submission. This segment served as a platform for aspiring filmmakers, both from the college and beyond, to exhibit their creations. The diverse themes, genres, and perspectives portrayed in these films contributed to the festival's rich cinematic experience. Another noteworthy program was the Fashion Show, involving six teams, including Chetana Faces. This segment celebrated creativity, style, and innovation as participants brought forth their unique interpretations of fashion. The platform provided an avenue for students to exhibit their talents in design, styling, and presentation. The festival's overall success was a testament to the active participation and enthusiasm of both students and the organizing team. The multitude of entries in the film festival and the inventive displays in the fashion show collectively created a lively atmosphere of creativity and artistic expression on campus. The event came to a triumphant close at 5 pm, marking the end of a day filled with cinematic brilliance and innovative fashion statements.

Chetana College of Media and Performing Arts hosted the DFSC 2023 Graduation Production Screening Ceremony  as part of VIVIDH 2023 on December 6th, 2023, from 9:30 am onwards in KG George Auditorium. Chetana College's VIVIDH 2023 featured the Media and Literature Fest (MLFC), organized by the Journalism and Language Department. The fest included diverse competitions, such as the RJ Hunt in collaboration with My Radio 90fm, won by Fathima Riya from Ansar Women College. The inauguration, graced by TK Saneesh from Manorama News, featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on "WHEN INDIA BECOMES BHARATH." The festival also hosted a subtitling workshop, a news reading competition, and vibrant cultural events, concluding with a celebration of creativity and diversity.

As an integral component of VIVIDH 2023, The Chathuram 2.0 Art Show was orchestrated by the collaborative efforts of the Departments of Graphic Design, Animation, and Multimedia, in partnership with Chetana College DESIGN HUB. This artistic exhibition unfolded on the Chetana College campus in Chiyyaram, with its official schedule set for December 4th, 2023. However, the exhibition, open to both the public and students, extended its showcase period, spanning from December 4th to December 7th, 2023.

The Chathuram 2.0 inauguration took place at venue 1, KG George Memorial (Auditorium, 3rd Floor), inaugurated by Vincent Pallisery, an Anamorphic Artist holding Guinness World Record & URF Asian Record. Following the inauguration, a masterclass on "Experience Anamorphic Art Works" was led by Vincent Pallisery, explaining the techniques of anamorphic art. The creative energy kicked off with a Face Painting competitionThe creative momentum continued with a lively Cosplay show featuring Chetana College students, followed by the prize distribution for the Face Painting competition and Cosplay show.Simultaneously, from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm, venue 3, Artist Namboothiri Memorial (Play Square, Ground Floor), hosted a Live Pottery Making demo and a heartwarming Swasraya exhibition, showcasing the talents of the Swasraya Special Child Development & Vocational Training Centre, Thrissur.

In a noteworthy endeavor, the 2nd-year Bachelor of Graphic Arts (BGA) students, accompanied by three esteemed faculty members, embarked on an insightful industrial visit. On the 9th of November, the contingent explored the Kerala State Institute of Design in Kollam, followed by a visit to Toonz Animation in Trivandrum on the 10th. Two outstanding films created by our students are being showcased at the Campus on Reels Short Film Festival organized by Synergia on 10/11/23, at Achutha Menon College Kuttanellur. The films, "My Home," directed by Athul Jophy, and "Cultus," directed by Akshay Nettiserry, highlight the creative prowess of our talented students. This recognition in a prestigious film festival reflects the dedication and artistic excellence fostered within our college community.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, namely the private bus owners' strike scheduled for October 31st, the Student Union Election at Chetana College has been rescheduled. As per the latest information received from the university, the new date for the election is now set for November 1st.

Ms. Steffi, faculty of the Language Department, participated in a prestigious two-day national seminar focused on "Indian Kadha Sahithyam." The event, jointly organized by the Departments of Malayalam and Hindi, along with the School of Literature Studies, was hosted at St. Aloysius College on October 27th and 28th.

The Design Hub and the Department of Graphic Design and Animation came together to host an enlightening Animation Day celebration on October 27th. "Cyber Awareness Workshop" which was hosted by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and featuring guest speaker Civil Police Officer Feat was a resounding success. Suheel Basith from the Cyber Cell of Thrissur City, the event provided valuable insights into the digital landscape. Students from the 2nd-year BGA, BFT, and BVC programs gathered on the studio floor on October 27th to strengthen their awareness of cyber-related matters.

On October 13, 2nd year BVC students from Chetana College embarked on an enriching field trip to the arts galleries in Kochi accompanied by faculty members Dr Muraleedharan Tharayil, Mr. K D Krishnadas and Ms. Nicole Maria Gomes. On October 11th at 1:30 pm, a workshop on mental well-being, led by Ms. Laisa Paul, a PhD scholar from Bharathiyar University, took place at the Studio Floor Hall. This event was organized in collaboration with the Kaval Plus Project of the Kerala Government and the KESS Counselling Cell.
